Jason Berry Stables is happy to host the JMU riding team. Students can choose to lesson once, twice or three times per week. Students pay club dues and carpool with each other. Our facility is located about 25 min from campus. We house several school horses varying in level and ability, and are able to accommodate beginners through advanced level riders. We have a great local circuit in South Western VA in which we participate, but travel to AA shows ranging up and down the East Coast. We welcome jumpers and hunters and find a lesson and show schedule to fit your needs. We also participate in the IHSA and structure lessons and team practices with that in mind.
Briana Stone has been hired to teach the JMU program in 2015. Briana graduated from Virginia Intermont College with an Equine Studies degree and rode on the IHSA team. After graduation, Briana got experience working and riding for various well-known Hunter/Jumper professionals. She is eager to help the JMU riders continue to grow their knowledge at home, at IHSA and at local and rated horse shows.
